Our History

Sonoma Valley Community Church (initially called Grace Reformed Church) held its first worship gathering on June  10, 1945 at the Sonoma-Vista Improvement Club House in Boyes Springs. The church later found our present property and had an open air worship service September 13, 1945.

We are celebrating our 78th Birthday this year!

The church building on Chase Street was built within a few years reflecting the charming and nostalgic architecture of that time. Through the years in Sonoma the church has desired to express the love of God to the surrounding community.

Sonoma Valley Community Church has its historical roots within the Reformed Church in America (RCA). The founding of the RCA dates back to 1628, when this community was begun by a group of Dutch colonists in New Amsterdam (now known as New York City).  It is one of the oldest Protestant churches and denominations in the United States.
