Giving grows thankfulness & God's promises in our lives!

Thank you for giving to advance the Kingdom of God and ministries of Sonoma Valley Community Church!

Jesus spoke much about the importance of living a life that is pleasing to God based on the grace of God that overflows into our lives.  Giving financially to the advancement of building Christian community is a joy, because of the promises of God that we are storing up treasures in heaven and that He promises to reward what we do in secret.  Mathew 6:18-21

How We Manage Finances:

Here are Sonoma Valley Community Church, accountability, integrity and transparency are built into the systems, reception and uses of funds.  Our treasurer makes sure that all funds are accounted for in aggregated monthly financial statements that are made available to the leadership team and the congregation at large during formal meetings.  Individual giving records are kept private, and year end financial statements are provided in January of each calendar year, along with presentation at an annual Congregational business meeting where the past year's income and expenses are reviewed and a church budget is passed.  The treasurer is also available to answer questions at monthly leadership meetings and by appointment.  The Leadership Team is prayerful, collaborative and active in implementing policies that help us manage our funds with God's wisdom.

Giving Thank offerings to God and Sharing Testimonies of God's Goodness and Generosity:

Giving financially is a great way to be thankful for all that God is doing in our lives.  The Bible is filled with many stories of God stepping in to people's lives in order to provide in amazing ways for those who walk in faith.  The New Testament book of Hebrews chapter 11, for instance, includes a long roll call of those who lived extraordinary lives with God during uncertain times.  Jesus Himself also instructs on the importance of thankfulness in response to God's goodness in our lives:

Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”  When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.  One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.  Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”  Luke 17:11-19
